#41 Start an IRA

As march 1st rolled around, i took on a new task and started a personal IRA. i currently have retirement through my work, but it's nice to have an extra padded security blanket in place. so i went to my bank and opened a new IRA. it sure is better to be safe then to not have the money should i need it. another personal goal accomplished and more to come.

#6 Have friends over to my house.

Yup, you guessed it. today is Super Bowl Sunday and im having a party at my house, and this is the perfect way to have friends over and enjoy the game. friends include co-workers as well. i'm excited that they are coming. it will be fun and pictures will be taken, so look forward to an addition to this post. as far as the spread im putting out, plenty of good food will be partaken. im fixing sweet and sour weinners, 4 kinds of potato chips, popcorn, salsa, taco seasoned hamburger, tortilla chips and two kinds of dips. im also having 3 medium pizzas delivered from dominios. plus, i've provided all the beer, so no excuse for anyone leaving hungry or tipsy, lol. just kidding about the last part. well, im off now to get a few things done before the guest arrive, so check back to see the pictures. GO STEELERS!!!

#26 Read an entire book

Finally, i can say i have taken the time to actually sit down and read an entire book from cover to cover. this is a big accomplishment for me, since im not the typical guy that likes to sit down and read. Even books, magazines or papers that i like to read and are interesting just don't seem to get read completely. reading makes me tired. i can thank my good friend Dave for giving me the book, The Man in the Mirror to read. i did find it interesting, because it was a book that was directed towards the christian male and how he should live his life. granted, it took me a little over 6 months to read it, the goal was accomplished. my next task is to find more books to read and complete them on a much more acceptable level. i actually just bought two more christian books this evening. The Love Dare, from the movie Fireproof and The Purpose Driven Life. Both books seem to be some more incredible reading. i can't wait to get started reading them, especially The Love Dare. stayed tuned for some more posts in the next few months. i know the winter months have been slow and i haven't posted much, but more is to come.

#66 Take a bath instead of a shower once a month for three consecutive months

This will be the last post of 2008. This was something not hard to achieve, but it was more of a quest to get myself to slow down and relax some and enjoy a nice soak in the tub. I just recently closed my retail gift shop, because it had become more of a headache then a joy, so now i can take more time for myself to enjoy life. Every one needs to slow down and enjoy the finer things in life. Im one to know, because i found myself working all the time, whether it was at my full time job or at the store. I will miss my store and serving the public, but it's time for a change and time to move on to new adventures. However for now, i will slow down, enjoy my days off from my full-time job and take one day at at time. I plan to continue to take at least one bath a month, just to keep myself honest and to relax. As for now, stayed tuned to more post and bigger and better things in 2009. HAPPY NEW YEAR! onward........

#9 Get baptized

Sunday was a special day for me. I got baptized for the first time ever. i have been going to a brethren church for almost a year now, and thanks to my sister, i really enjoy this particular church. i feel peace and at home at this church. the people are really nice and the services are more contemporary. i have been attending every sunday that i can, except when i have to work. it's very rare now that i miss a sunday. i really wanted to be a part of this church, so i took a step forward and got baptized. i was the 21st person to be baptized at this church for the year. afterwards, they had a soup and sandwich meal in the social hall. i look forward to growing with this church with my spiritual self.

#90 Go to my alma mater JMU homecoming

Sure has been a long time since i have posted something, but it doesn't mean i haven't been working on a few things. Been kinda crazy the last few months with OT at my job. i have been able to knock two more items off my list. Slowly im marking them off the list. In nov., i was able to go to my college homecoming at JMU. this was the first time i had been to JMU's homecoming since i graduated many moons ago. It was a great atmosphere, that was made better by our team winning the game. What a great season they are having. Go Dukes. I didnt see any of the classmates i went to school with, but im sure there were there somewhere. Hope to get back to homecoming next year as well.
